July 22, 2011 Wind and Tide Links Henry Thomas

Gavin has been the 'cat that swallowed the canary' on quite a few occasions lately. It been quite uncanny the way he has picked just the right sail and caught wind the rest of us missed. There are certainly swings and merry-go-rounds in this game, but winter winds are just so flukey.

Elliott Heads deals a nice hand, saturday 16 th July. After much head scratching with the data from the weather and tide links and waking Henry up, it was on. I was expecting a light session, but it pumped up and the 8.3 m was right on the button. Henry is going to tattoo the settings for his 11m on his forearm so he can dial it in quickly and give us all a light wind pasting. Today the 11 gave a great blast in a light wind, rain flattened mid tide window. It's a sweet rig! No winter blues here, nice session, quick packup and shower in the brisk conditions, up to the shop for a friendly feed and I'm smiling. Better go for a walk with Heather this arvo, windsurfing can get a bit selfish. SWters this week, more good times. See you on the water, Gavin
